Bongo Bongo Divers is a great place for anyone keen to dive in Dauin with knowledgeable and safe divemasters and instructors, and who is looking for reasonably priced and good quality accommodation within walking distance of the beach and main town.

I’ve stayed with them a couple of times now, and the atmosphere is always friendly and sociable, which is great if you want to chat with other like-minded divers in the evenings.

They have a cafe / bar serving drinks, and while they don’t serve food, you’re welcome to use the kitchen, or to order food in for delivery from one of the many tasty restaurants in Dauin.

I recently did my instructor development course with Anthony, who is an excellent course director, and he put in lots of time and work to make sure we had all the skills and knowledge we needed to pass the instructor exam. Thanks Anthony!

Bongo Bongo is am amazing little dive resort in the heart of Dauin with access to some of the best diving the Philippines has to offer!

I have done all of my professional PADI courses and a few specialties through BB, Anthony the Course Director is a wonderful instructor and his courses are well planned and thorough. My Instructor Exam seemed easy after going through Anthony’s IDC, that speaks volumes to the quality of training provided by Anthony and the Bongo team.

Bongo also has consistently the best and most experienced DMs/Guides in the area, so much so that other resorts are always trying to poach them from Bongo! Tito, Tado, Jhong, Denver and the whole boat crew are awesome! If you want to see octopus, challenge Tito to find you one… but do not BET anything!

The atmosphere is amazing, once you are there, if you are a friendly person, they treat you like family!

The diving… Dauin is well known already for it’s diving, what more need to be said really? The Bongo crew delivers day in and day out with the best guides and boat crew!

I have so much to say about this establishment, but I’ll do my best to keep to keep it brief.. Bongo Bongo Divers literally changed my life and to say that I am grateful for Magnus and his entire staff would be a significant understatement.

I first arrived in ‘16 to complete my Open water course and later returned to proceed with my Rescue Diver and Divemaster training from there I was so impressed by the quality of mentoring I received from Luna that I immediately went for the Instructor Development Course(IDC). The training I received under Anthony was thoroughly exceptional and overall an experience that I will always look back on as some of the best days of my life. Under the Course Director’s supervision along with his staff I received all of the tools I needed to pursue a career within an industry that I truly love and appreciate. In the end they even helped me find a position with a Five Star PADI Dive Center where I was quickly offered a management role in overseeing dive center operations, and I can attribute this opportunity entirely upon the the folks at Bongo Bongo.

There isn’t a day that goes by in which I am not repping my BBD neoprene vest, hat, or one of the tees that I collected, every time I rock the swag It serves as a reminder of all the great times that I have been blessed with by the graces of their services. When you dive with Bongo Bongo you will find that you are merely steps away from a house reef that is a pristine and lush ecosystem where sea turtles, frog fish, even the occasional blue ring octopus in addition to a plethora of marine life that are no strangers, so while I completed every level of my training I was greeted by a host of critters that would shrink any experienced diver’s bucket list by margins. Don’t even get me started on the Apo Island trips that never failed to exceed expectations.

As a guest the hospitality is unmatched by the entirety of the staff and the DM guides have a keen eye and understanding of everything below the surface and every step of the way safety and professionalism is held to the highest standard. Whether you dive with Tito, Tado, or Jong you will certainly be in store for an exceptional diving experience.

The connections and memories I have made during my time there will always be looked back upon with nostalgia and appreciation as I can hardly begin to count all of the lifelong friends met and every kindred spirit encountered.

My words towards this diving center will always be good in every way. I did my IDC with Bongo Bongo Divers with Anthony as Course Director and Luna as IDC Staff, They both provided us with all the tools and education necessary to make the final exam a smooth ride. From the moment I arrived at the diving center everything was focused on providing an exceptional education for all candidates. The passion with which they taught us this knowledge makes the difference between valuing a good experience and a memorable one as was mine during my time at Bongo Bongo.

I genuinely recommend taking your diving courses with then , the safety and training received will be above average.

The facilities and service they provide are always great. Everything is well organized and they are present in every detail, to make an unbeatable experience, whether it is your dive course or your diving vacation.

My experience at Bongo Bongo Divers has been incredible thanks to the people who were part of it.

And what about diving in Dauin… The creatures you can find in this place seem like science fiction, but reality always surpasses fiction, and diving with them and being able to explore in the shore dives the macro life that is on that place will leave you speechless, a wide variety of tiny creatures everywhere, a paradise for divers passionate about finding macro life under the surface. Big ovation to one of their Dive Masters Tito! amazing macro marine life seeker!!

In summary, if you get to the end of this review looking for a decision on whether to dive or take your courses with Bongo Bongo Divers, it is a good decision. My opinion is that It will be a blast for sure!!!

My step-son went to Bongo Bongo Divers to get his IDC and do his MSDT prep – absolutely amazing outfit, and I cannot recommend then more highly.

Trying to organize stuff from the UK whilst my step son was at another dive centre in the Philippines, I expected to be a challenge…but Anthony from Bongo Bongo was incredibly patient with me and my lack of dive and local knowledge, explained everything thoroughly and made the whole process very easy.

Not only has he supported Jack with getting his instructor qualifications, he’s also given him further confidence, and peace of mind to me back home!

The Bongo Bongo team are professional, their service is well priced, and they’re thoroughly lovely human beings.
